We are proud to announce Selador Recordings will launch their Seladoria series of events at the legendary Club NL during this year’s Amsterdam Dance Event on Sunday 20th October with Quivver, EdOne, Luke Brancaccio and Christian Nielsen joining label owners Dave Seaman & Steve Parry behind the decks.
“It’s something we’ve been working on for a while”, says label head honcho, Dave. “We wanted to bring a little more colour and unpredictability to our events. Something a little more immersive than your standard label showcase”.
He continues.. “Steve & I have both being going to clubs for longer than probably either of us care to remember and we thought we should really try to bring some of our experiences to our own parties.
The whole idea of going down the rabbit hole into another world for a few hours is very much the ethos of what clubbing should be about for us. A little trip into Wonderland soundtracked by some of the hottest contemporary club music around. A chance to lose yourself in a little cocoon of positivity before coming out the other side with that ‘Did that really just happen?!’ feeling. Well, that’s our aim anyway. And we’re sure as hell going to have fun doing it!”

In today’s disposable, here-today-gone-tomorrow world of Electronic Music, it can, on occasion, feel like there are more DJs, producers & record labels than there are actual clubs and clubbers. It’s a densely populated and over saturated market place, where it’s becoming increasingly difficult to cut through the noise and stand out from the crowd. Unless that is, you know a thing or two about making a name for yourself.
Step forward Dave Seaman & Steve Parry, Acid house lifers with decades of experience between them who 6 years ago decided to join forces and embark on another chapter in their illustrious careers by setting up independent label, Selador Recordings. Together they have carved out a reputation as providers of the finest in Melodic House & Techno and many of the subtle shades in between. They stubbornly refuse to be constricted to the kind of niche genre policy many of today’s labels seem to adopt and it’s a formula that has served them well, attracting some of the best producers in the business to rally behind the Seladorian battle cry.
As the imprint reaches its 100th release, by way of celebration, Dave & Steve have assembled a crack team of producers to tackle a handful of the label’s landmark back catalogue that had not previously been remixed. Until now!
Calling on André Hommen, D-Nox & Beckers, Doc Martin, Kotelett & Zadak, Moonwalk and Petar Dundov to reinterpret the collaborative works of Dave & Steve themselves, Gorge & Joeski, Guy Mantzur & Lonya, Cristoph & Quivver and Luke Brancaccio & Tim Healey – it’s a mightily impressive cast.
A milestone release befitting of the occasion then. A toast to centurion status and to everyone who has shown love and support for the label thus far. Thing is, you can’t help thinking the journey has really only just begun.
Happy Birthday Selador – A cut above.
As Dave Seaman & Steve Parry’s highly regarded Selador Recordings imprint approaches its 100th release, celebrations are afoot to mark the centenary with a release befitting of the occasion. Selador has carved out a reputation as providers of the finest in Melodic House and Techno as this milestone release reaffirms. For SEL100, a crack team of remixers have been assembled to tackle some of the label’s landmark back catalogue that had previously not been remixed. Until now! Stand by for D-Nox & Beckers, André Hommen, Doc Martin, Petar Dundov, Moonwalk and Kotelett & Zadak getting to grips with Dave & Steve themselves, Cristoph & Quivver, Guy Mantzur & Lonya, Gorge & Joeski and Luke Brancaccio & Tim Healey. It’s a mightily impressive cast whichever way you slice it. Look out!
Spanish Producer, EdOne makes a welcome return to Selador following his highly acclaimed debut last year and again his production prowess is on display for all to see. Back with a brace of badass originals that instantly grabbed the attention of label bosses Seaman & Parry who were overheard to say they stood out from the daily avalanche of demos like “a porcupine in a nudist colony” 😉
‘Bipolar’ sets the tone with it’s brooding percussive backbone and climatic melodic surges while the equally impressive ‘Devastate’ lives up to it’s name with a heady mix of rich dark melodies and spicy Eastern flavours leaving a full-blown trail of destruction. An intoxicating concoction indeed.
Adding fuel to the fire, our old friend, John ‘Quivver’ Graham then lends a hand on remix duties turning ‘Bipolar’ into a finely tuned specimen drawn from a perfectly judged sound palette like only John knows how. As per 🙂
Selador Recordings – Just the right amount of wonk!
It’s hard to believe that it’s been 5 years already since we smashed a metaphorical bottle on the side of the good ship Selador and set sail upon the choppy waters of the independent record label business, but that’s where we’re at.
To celebrate this milestone we wanted to do something a little bit special and so it was decided (on a beer mat, over a beer, like so many of our best laid plans) to assemble a team of artists who’d helped us get thus far (plus a few added cameos for good measure) and ask them to collaborate. The result is a statement of just how far we’ve come. 24 esteemed artists creating 12 tracks across 3 EPs.
This first EP sees 4 mouthwatering pairings. From the Progressive heavy hitters Quivver & Cristoph teaming up for the slamming wall of sound that is ‘In Name Only’ to the deep Tech wizardry of ‘Friendship’ by Robert Babicz & Stelios Vassiloudis through the inspired, effortless chic of Just Her & Raw District on ‘Three Hearts’ finishing with the ‘knock-it-out-of-the-park’ Techno monster of Luke Brancaccio & Tim Healey’s ‘Voices’ featuring Kiki Cave, it’s an awesome foursome. And this is just the tip of the proverbial iceberg.
So please raise your glasses and join us in a toast to 5 Years Of Selador. Or even better, come join us in person at Watergate, Berlin on April 26th for the launch party. We’ll even throw in some cake (though not in the Steve Aoki sense obviously).
Happy Birthday to us
