Out Now: Selador Showcase EP – Third Generation

selador_showcase_3-2

From the series that has previously served up such gems as Robert Babicz’s ‘Auralphase’ and Dave Seaman’s ‘Justified Replacement Of Lulu’, the Selador Showcase is back with another batch of beauties lovingly collated for your listening pleasure.

For the third in the series, we’ve opted for an EP rather than LP as we know first hand how increasingly difficult it is to digest full length albums in this crazy age of quantity over quality. So without further ado, here they are, five exclusive Techno weapons, from established artists, label favourites and new names alike, every one a thriller in their own right.

We open proceedings with a brand new name to production, introducing Liverpool based Irishman, Never More with ‘Forward Momentum’. Already a stalwart of the Irish scene as part of the legendary Republik crew out of Waterford, this debutant shines with all the spirit and endeavour that his club’s reputation has garnered over the last couple of years.

One of our long time favourite producers, Marc DePulse follows with a Teutonic fire bolt right out of the top drawer. Delivering precision with an effortless cool as only the German’s know how, this comes ahead of Marc’s first full blown EP for the label just to whet your whistle, so to speak.

Lonya further cements the EPs credentials with ‘Makore 7’, it’s growling synths pulsing and fizzing their way through a perfectly formed, understated arrangement. 2016 is already panning out to be a momentous one for Lonya. Don’t miss the boat.

Several Definitions then makes his Selador debut with a dark destroyer built around rattling hats, menacing synths and haunting vocal clips. Already massive for label bosses Seaman & Parry, this is just a taste of what’s soon to come from Several Definitions on Selador. Watch this space.

French duo, Datametrik round things off in fine style, picking up where they left off from their Xenon EP for the label last year with another mind melting excursion into contemporary Techno. Totally trippy yet equally equanimous – no mean feat. Respect is due.

Upgrade your perspective people. Fight your mind. The Third Generation are here.

OUT NOW: TOM PETERS ‘TWO OF US/RESTLESS’

tom peters-2bAs February 29th only comes around every four years, we thought it befitting of this latest fleeting appearance to celebrate with yet another fine release from our burgeoning Selador stable. Be rude not to, right?

And what better way than with the label debut of Mr Tom Peters. German born, Berlin based, Tom has already released music through such esteemed channels as German heavyweight labels, Kompakt & Get Physical and so naturally, we’re very pleased he’s decided to add Selador to his already impressive résumé.

Featuring two very different but equally strong original productions, the tribal tech of ‘Two Of Us’ with it’s wonky synth surges and sensuous vocal inflections to the more forceful peak time techno flavourings of ‘Restless’. It really is a double header not to be missed.

On remixing assignments, rising German star, Tim Engelhardt sprinkles his own magic dust over ‘Two Of Us’ whilst Mexican duo Climbers step up to the plate with a stonking interpretation of ‘Restless’. Basically, it’s a win win situation. Just the way we like it.

So.. Happy Leap Day everyone. Don’t say we didn’t spoil you 😉

Out Now: Habischman ‘The Way’ EP

habischman-smaller

Following his superb remix on Quivver’s ‘Wait For You’ for Selador last summer, Iman Habibi aka Habischman makes his fully fledged artist debut on Dave Seaman & Steve Parry’s imprint with a four track Extended Player fit for a king.

The Iranian born Berlin resident has been making some tidal sized waves recently with releases on the likes of Moda Black, Noir Music, Steyoyoke & Booka Shade’s Blaufield and in our humble, if slightly biased opinion, this release is positively tsunami-esque.

From the irresistible depth of the title track to the pulsating drama of ‘All I Dream’
and the shimmering zeitgeist house of ‘Skin’ to the seductive bounce of ‘Dub Rumors’,
we are ticking boxes, left, right & centre here. All bases covered. Nailed on home run.

Out Now: Cristoph ‘Foregone Conclusion EP’ Part 2

christoph_2
Hello again and a huge Seladorian sized Happy New Year to one and all. After what was a momentous 2015 for us here at Selador Towers, we’re now primed and ready to make this year even bigger and better. Here to prove it, starting as we mean to go on, is our first release of 2016.
As regular receivers of our music you should already be familiar with the Forgone Conclusion EP by label fave, Cristoph which we released last summer and you may also remember that somewhat unusually for us, the release came with no remixes. Well, we thought it was about time we put that right. And so, in all it’s remixed glory, here is the Forgone Conclusion EP – Part Two.
First up a producer that has been making plenty of noise recently with his releases on the likes of Suara & Noir, the one and only, Kiko. The Frenchman tackles the lead track in his own inimitable signature style, overflowing with zest and prime time intensity. The sound of a man at the top of his game.
Next our very own Dave Seaman returns a favour after Cristoph remixed Dave’s ’Naughty Forest’ release a little over a year ago and our head honcho does us proud on ‘Digging In’. Main room melodics with just a touch of wonk, it’s a belter and no mistake.
Then, it’s the turn of Kevin Over on ‘Moments’ who throws off the shackles of his trademark basement house sound and dons his alternative cap to embark on a journey of dark acidic retro flavoured electronica. Heads down for some proper left of centre gear.
And finally, fashionably late to the party, we welcome Lonya. The resident DJ of the the legendary Cat & Dog club in Tel Aviv gives his deep atmospheric Techno take on ‘Time For Change’. A brooding slab of darkness for those late night floors.
So there you have it, Cristoph and friends, prepared in 4 very different flavours to suit every palate. Tasty business, whichever way you slice it.
Selador Recordings – yum-yum!
