Selador’s 200th Release
20 August 2025

Somewhere back in the mists of time, most likely involving the odd papal decree, some dodgy calculations about how long it takes the earth to do a trip round the sun, and a nerdy historian or two wanting to find a way to compartmentalise the eras they were documenting, the concept of decades and centuries entered the public consciousness.

What with folk across the ages always looking for an excuse to party, they became something to celebrate, both the longevity of the milestone attained, and the excitement about what was to follow.

Those of you of a curatorial mindset, collectors, musical librarians and all round SelaNerds will no doubt have noticed our catalogue numbers creeping up towards the big 2-0-0. Suffice to say, something special has being cooked up in Harvey’s lab to celebrate this most auspicious milestone…

It seems only fitting that the 200th Release Project features 12 brand new and exclusive remixes of classic tracks by Selador’s two bossmen, Dave Seaman & Steve Parry, reworked courtesy of friends old and new. Six of Dave’s and six of Steve’s. ‘A Sonic smorgasbord?’, we hear you ask? Not ‘arf! In short, it’s what Selador has been doing from releases 1 to 199, with added birthday vim and vigour. We invite you to savour and enjoy our dirty dozen across 3 EPs dropping across August.

Strike One!

Aug 1st sees a UK vs Argentina soundclash as Hernan Cattaneo & Mercurio get to grips with the Steve Parry & Four Candles collab ‘Mysko’ … Derun’s mean, moody & magnificent take on Dave Seaman feat. Thomas Gandey ‘Heavyweight Residue’…a characteristically magical Just Her re-rub on Steve’s ‘Won’t You Believe’ …and the quartet rounded off with Audio Junkies’ pulsating, pumping, percussive remix on Dave’s ‘Two by Two’.

Strike Two!

On the 15th, Elif’s celestial keys lead the way on a revision of Dave’s ‘Nightfalls’… Stereo Underground’s take on Steve’s ‘Waterfloor’ is equal parts eerie and enticing… Anido on Dave’s ‘Inflammable Contraband’ sees 90s raves feels put through the 21st century mincer…and Pornbugs serve up an urgent, high octane adaptation of Steve’s inimitable ‘Fenner’.

Strike Three!

…and on the 29th, the trilogy is completed in style with Skala’s terrifically tribal and twisted remix of Dave’s ‘Donkey Engine’…the multi-layered beast that  is Dilby on Steve’s ‘Turn Up The Juice’ …Cortona’s epic techno-fuelled workout on a second appearance for ‘Heavyweight Residue’…and it’s double top for ‘Waterfloor’ too with wonky riffs galore jamming in perfect unison courtesy of  Harald Björk’s reworking.
